OLD 2 GOLD SALE THIS SATURDAY!

From Old2Gold is the University of Notre Dame’s annual end of year yard sale of items donated by students. 100% of proceeds go to local charities who assist with the sale’s operation.

The 2009 sale will be held on Saturday, May 23 in Notre Dame Stadium.

WHERE DO I GO?
The sale will be held on the south concourse of Notre Dame Stadium (the football stadium). All guests will enter the sale through Gate C. Parking will be available south of the football stadium.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET IN?
Admission is free to the sale between 9AM – 11AM. If you want to get in for the “early bird” sale between 7AM – 9AM, there will be a $5 per person admission fee. Early bird tickets will be available in a trailer located outside Gate B of the football stadium (in the area between the football stadium and Joyce Center) between 5AM – 7AM. Early bird tickets will also be available between 7AM – 9AM.

CAN I BUY TICKETS FOR FRIENDS/FAMILY IF THEY ARE SHOWING UP LATER?
No. Hands will be stamped upon purchase of an early bird ticket. You must be present to purchase an early bird ticket. You cannot buy tickets for others not in attendance when you are paying for the tickets.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE ITEMS?
This is a cash only sale. The sale does not accept checks, credit cards, or coins. Please bring plenty of cash with you. Click here for a map of the nearest ATM’s.

HOW SOON SHOULD I GET THERE?
Tickets for the early bird sale will be available between 5AM – 7AM. Please be advised that overnight parking and camping out overnight will not be permitted. Shoppers will be permitted to wait in line no earlier than 5 AM. Please do not arrive before 5 AM.

WHAT WILL BE OFFERED?
The items available are based on what Notre Dame students have donated. Among the items for sale this year, include:

  • Men’s clothing
  • Women’s clothing
  • Bedding (mattress covers, bedspreads, etc.)
  • Furniture (futons, couches, etc.)
  • Office furniture (chairs, desks, etc.)
  • Crates and bins (stackable storage, etc.)
  • Bicycles
  • Carpet remnants
  • Cut lumber (grouped by size!)
  • Televisions
  • Microwaves
  • Small refrigerators

NOTHING WILL COST OVER $50! All items will be reasonably priced, many for under $5!

HOW WILL THE SEALED BID AUCTION WORK?
A special sealed bid auction will be conducted for specialty items that many people may be interested in having the ability to purchase. Items include: iPods, autographed baseball, stadium blanket with misc items, cameras, iPod with clock radio, and more. The sealed bid will run from 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM, and you must purchase early bird ticket to place a bid. Bidding will close at 7:00 AM. Winners will be announced at the bid tent at 8:00 AM. Winning bidders must be present. Winning bidders will be given 15 minutes to claim their item. If the item is not claimed by 8:15 AM, the next bid will be announced.
